Labor Day Saturday 10am

The colorful Westfest Parade winds through the streets of downtown West, Texas. The Westfest Parade is one of the biggest parades in Central Texas each year. You will love the floats, the bands, and more. Make sure you get there early so you can have the best view of all the many entrants. 

Parade Entrant Information

Parade Entry Types

Commercial/Private - $20 entry fee. This includes all for-profit organizations, businesses, politicians, private entries, car clubs, etc. This fee includes entry into the parade and entry into parade float judging. No additional entry passes will be received. 


Community/Non-Profit – No entry fee. This includes non-profit organizations, schools, queens, municipalities, etc. This fee includes entry into the parade and entry into parade float judging. Additionally Westfest gate entry passes will also be assessed per entry on an as needed basis. 

Judging

Criteria

Judging will occur within each entry category. Entrants must opt in on the parade entry form to be judged.


Each entrant will be scored in the following areas:

· Title & Theme – Westfest & Million Dollar Polka ( 30 points)

· Czech Heritage Promotion (20 points)

· Creativity/Originality of Idea (20 points)

· Public Appeal (15)

· Craftsmanship (15)


Prizes:

Commercial/Private

· 1st Place - $100

· 2nd Place - $70

· 3rd Place - $40


Community/Non-Profit

· 1st Place - $100

· 2nd Place - $70

· 3rd Place - $40


 

Day of Judging:

Floats to be judged need to be in place and manned by 8:30 a.m. for judging. Decorate and man your float prior to entering the judging area. Judging will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. 

Day of Parade

Parade entrants not being judged should be in place by 9:00 a.m. and boarded with passengers by 9:45 a.m. Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
